What Is It?
The Harley Davidson XL1200CX Roadster is a premium cruiser style bike and is powered by an air-cooled 1,202 cc V-Twin engine, producing around 65 bhp and maximum torque at just 4,000 rpm.
Features include:
- Belt final drive
- Steel tubular frame
- Dual 300 mm discs up front with two piston calipers
- 260 mm disc at the rear with two piston caliper
- ABS system
- Non-adjustable 43 mm upside down fork with 114 mm travel
- Dual rear shocks with adjustable pre-load and 81 mm travel
- 5 speed gearbox
The new Harley-Davidson Roadster is based around the existing 1200 cc Sportster model, but styled to evoke memories of the race machines of the 1950s and 1960s. It joins the Harley Dark Custom lineup to appeal to fans of modern customs which go for a stripped-back look.
The resulting new bike uses a more responsive steering geometry and the longest suspension travel of any Sportster, aiming for an agile ride which is still comfortable.
The Roadster also adjusts the position of the rider to be more central over the 12.5 litre fuel tank with low rise handlebars, mid-mount foot controls and a new contoured padded seat. Instrumentation is limited to a single analogue rev counter with a digital speedo inset.
The rear indicators are mounted directly on the struts of the mudguard, while a new cleaner license plate and rear lighting mount has been introduced. There's also custom tank graphics and a finned timer cover. The 20-spoke 19" front wheel takes a 120/70 tyre and the rear 18" a 150/70.
Accessories include high performance Chrome / black ceramic mufflers (£721), a solo seat (£358) and LED headlight.
